Encouraging Creativity in Education: The Design Center of The American International School of Bucharest
The American International School of Bucharest LLC is one of the most important institutions in Romania, founded at first to serve the educational needs of the American and expatriate community and becoming in time a good learning environment for Romanian children as well.
Having over 50 years of existence, the AISB LLC Romanian branch has proved itself to be a respectable model of good and responsible leadership, investing in permanently improving learning conditions, technologies, equipment and students’ well-being.
The first collaboration between Vitalis Consulting and AISB LLC has started back in 2017, when we were appointed to provide full construction consultancy services for the extension of the institution, consisting in the development of two new buildings, the exterior design, consolidation and reconstruction works, new interior reconfiguration and remodelling of the facades.
As a result of a good collaboration, starting with March 2019, Vitalis team was once again nominated to coordinate a new project developed by AISB, consisting in the extension, reconsolidation and modernization of one existing building of the institution, along with the construction of a new GF+1F building.
The project is aimed to provide a new Design Center for students, consisting in building new class laboratories for design and visual arts activities, such as painting, graphic design, installations, photography and videography courses, web design, food design and fashion design.
Vitalis team is handling both the pre-construction and the construction phase of the project. Within the pre-construction phase we are providing Project Management and Cost Management services and in the construction phase, besides Project and Cost Management, we are offering as well Site Inspection and Health and Safety Coordination services.
We find the construction of a Design Center within the American International School LLC as a great initiative to encourage the use of creativity among young students and we are proud to help bringing to life such an innovative project.

The Area of Co-working Spaces in Bucharest May Double by 2023
The area of co-working spaces in Bucharest is currently around 40,000 sq. m and can accommodate between 5,000 and 6,000 employees, according to a study by a real estate consultancy firm.
The segment has been developing very fast in recent years and the trend will continue, with numbers expected to double by 2022/2023, the same analysis shows. Thus, Bucharest may have over 82,000 sq. m of co-working spaces and 11,000 employees working in these spaces over four years.
The demand for flexible workspaces in Bucharest might come from companies seeking to offer their employees the flexibility to work from other parts of the city, according to specialists.
The flexible workspace market in Bucharest took off in 2018 when the total take-up of office spaces generated by this segment increased to almost 27,000 sq. m. A lot of interest has been coming from new players on the Bucharest market as well as the biggest name locally.
At the end of 2018, flexible workspace accounted for only 1.5% of total office space on average across the 22 major European cities, with the highest proportions recorded at just 5% in London and Amsterdam. Bucharest is slightly over the average, at 1.7%.
